Carved in holly and burnt in the Yakisuga technique. This work was a study for a series entitled moot, shown at Royal Botanic Gardens Kew in 2023. This head has also toured scottish islands by sea in an exploratory exhibition with Thomas Hawson and the Royal Society of Sculptors in spring 2026. The series of wooden heads carved from different hardwoods investigated the relationship of trees through their mycorhizal relationships.
